
Edo State is a tourist haven. In Benin City there is the Obas Palace which is a repository of Benin history, arts, crafts and culture of several centuries old. Other centers of tourist attraction in Benin City include the Benin Moat around Benin City; Ogba Zoo with several species of wildlife; the National Museum in Benin City containing several art works depicting stories of the Benin Empire; and the Ramat Park. Centers of tourist attraction also abound in other parts of the state. They include Udo Tourist Center; Captain Philips Grave; the Okomu Wildlife Sanctuary; the Sokponba Holiday Resort; the Ososo Tourist Center; Somorika Hills; Edegbake; and the Fugar Caves.

These similarities are manifested in their religious worship, folklore, dances, festivals, arts and craft, etc. These offer the people the opportunity for a reunion as members of the family and friends; and occasions for ancestral purification of the land and individual celebrants. Some of the important festivals include Igue celebrated by the Binis; Ukpe by the Esan; Iko by the Owan; and Ithun by the Etsako.

The state has produced some of the most outstanding Nigerian Artists. These include the late Prof. Irein Wangboje, Felix Idubor, Festus Idehen, Osagie Osifo, Colette Omogbai, Peter Omo-Ersese, Erhabor Emokpae, Aghama Omoruyi, A.O. Osakue and Tavo Aiye, to mention but a few.

The people of the state share a common origin and they have similar culture. These similarities are manifested in their religious worship, folk lore, dances, festivals, arts and crafts, etc. History has it that most people of the state migrated from Benin, the heart of the ancient Benin kingdom.
